Algonquin footbridge installed on weekend

For all the delays in its arrival, the Algonquin College pedestrian footbridge didn’t take long to put in place.

The bridge was supposed to have been installed in early August, but the bridge’s maker, Mometal Structures, had problems transporting the 66-metre-long structure.

When it finally arrived, the work was done in one night.

The roof, floor and walls of the bridge still need to be finished.

Algonquin College students will not be crossing the bridge until the new construction trades building is ready “this time next year,” said College Ward Coun. Rick Chiarelli.
