Ana’s crazy for hair products

Actress Ana Ortiz

Ana Ortiz, actress, plays Hilda on Ugly Betty:

Q: What products make you look and feel good?

A: I’m crazy about hair products and lotions. The hair stuff I use right now Is Kerastase. When I get too pale I use the Clarin’s brand of self-tanner, which looks the most natural and fades beautifully. I use Jergens for everyday. Neutrogena has the best sunscreen for me and I use it religiously.

Q: Describe your style?

A: My style is always changing according to my mood. I love vintage clothes. You’ll never catch me without my gold hoops. I always wear my Adidas Shell Toes. Always!

Q: How do you keep life in perspective?

A: Worrying about the small stuff is actually a real problem for me. What works for me is to just live in the moment and appreciate how wonderful life is.

Q: How do you stay fit?

A: My workout, three times a week, consists of a class called Cardio Barre (aerobics done at a ballet barre). It’s the best thing I’ve ever done. When I can’t go to class I try to run and do weights: light weight, heavy reps.

Q: What are your healthy eating habits?

A: My fiancé and I try to juice three to four times a week. Spinach, broccoli, carrot and apple (for sweetness) and ginger (for digestion). My skin glows and you get a wonderful high after it. Really!

Singer/songwriter Joe

Joe, R&B singer/songwriter, his newest CD is Ain’t Nothin’ Like Me (Zomba, Sony/BMG):

Q: What products make you look and feel good?

A: I have to have cocoa butter. I also use L’Occitane products and Kade shaving cream.

Q: Describe your style?

A: I’ll wear jeans, Timberland, but will then add a nice shirt. My style is class and sophistication with a little bit of hood. Some trends I follow but for the most part I don’t want to get caught in history. Years from now you’ll see yourself in a photo wearing some crazy, trendy outfit and wonder, “What the heck was I thinking?”

Q: How do you keep life in perspective?

A: I’ve always had the big picture in mind. Some of the small stuff is relevant, too, but you have to pick and choose what to worry about and what not to.

Q: How do you stay fit?

A: I have a gym in my house. I do a full body workout for an hour-and-a- half four to five days per week.

Q: What are your healthy eating habits?

A: I’m a big pasta guy. I love Italian, Jamaican food and soul food. I have a very high metabolism so I burn everything off. I stay away from desserts.
