Anchors away for Good, Martin

After 17 years of balancing two full-time jobs, 65-year-old veteran broadcaster Bill Good joked he’s at the point in his career where maybe one full-time job is enough.

Good and Pamela Martin are stepping down as co-anchors of CTV’s 6 p.m. newscast, a position the pair have shared since 2001.

Martin, who has worked in Vancouver as a reporter and anchor for 35 years, said she agonized with the decision since the end of the Olympics. She conceded the departure is probably the “end of an era” in local broadcasting. Their final show will be in late December.

“It’ll be an emotional time,” said Good. “It’s always tough leaving what you love.”
