Local student Walter Pang has received the Edit Petrovic Memorial Award and a $2,500
scholarship from ECO Canada for founding the Youth Earth Ambassadors.
“To receive this award was unreal. I probably would not have been able to go to university without it,” said Pang.
He plans on attending the Environmental Accounting program at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. He said his running of the YEA likely won him the award.
After its first year alone, the YEA had over 4,000 volunteer hours of environmental services.
