A group of armed men forced their way into a Dartmouth apartment yesterday, putting a bag over the head of a person inside and snatching some jewelry before taking off, police say.
"One of them produced a handgun," Sgt. Mark Hobeck of Halifax Regional Police said of the robbery that occurred on the 100 block of Windmill Road at about 2:40 p.m.
Hobeck said the victim couldn't describe his assailants because of the bag blocking his view and isn't sure if three or four people were involved.
"They basically ransacked the apartment," he said.
The suspects were seen driving away in a silver-coloured vehicle, police said, adding the home invasion isn't believed to be a random act.
