Armstrong accepts position with Blues: Source

Doug Armstrong has landed another NHL job.

A source told The Canadian Press last night Armstrong has accepted a front office position with the St. Louis Blues.

He spent 16 years with the Dallas Stars — the last five as general manager — before being fired in November. Armstrong was assistant GM when the Stars won the Stanley Cup in 1999 and saw his teams post a winning record in each of the seasons he held the GM’s job.

In St. Louis, he’ll work alongside Blues GM Larry Pleau.

Armstrong had been linked to one of the front office vacancies in Toronto but he took the job in St. Louis before the Maple Leafs could even interview him.
