Arson is suspected in an early morning fire that drove a family from its home.

The Calgary Fire Department says a live-in nurse heard a pop and noticed flames at the rear of the home at about 4:30 this morning.

Three adults and two children quickly evacuated the home in the 200 block of Mount Aberdeen Close.

The fire is believed to have started at the rear of the home, firefighters say. Smoke damage is extensive on the inside of the two-storey home.

With two gasoline cans found near the fire's origin, the department says, the blaze is considered suspicious.
