Assange to face US justice?

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, freed on bail Thursday after nine days in a London jail for alleged sexual offenses in Sweden, said his lawyers had heard rumors he had been indicted in the United States.

LONDON – WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, freed on bail Thursday after nine days in a London jail for alleged sexual offenses in Sweden, said his lawyers had heard rumors he had been indicted in the United States.

Assange, an Australian, angered U.S. authorities by publishing part of a trove of 250,000 U.S. diplomatic cables.

The New York Times reported that federal prosecutors were looking for evidence that Assange had conspired with a former U.S. Army intelligence analyst suspected of leaking classified documents.
