Attempted robbery in Burnside

Two suspects described as being in their early 20s fled an attempted robbery in a wild getaway yesterday.

Halifax Regional Police say at around 11 a.m., two employees of Princess Auto in Burnside were walking through the parking lot. The man and woman were approached by a man with a firearm who demanded money.

“When they refused, the suspect fled the area on foot and got into a waiting vehicle (a white Buick LaSabre) on Isnor Drive,” said Halifax Regional Police spokeswoman Theresa Rath.

“It went over a curve and came to rest at a stop sign on Akerley at Mosher Drive and they fled the area on foot onto a wooded area. We believe they may have been picked up by a waiting vehicle.”
