Director: Athina Rachel Tsangari
Stars: Ariane Labed, Giorgos Lanthimos, Vangelis Mourikis
A young woman discovers her sexuality while tending to her father as he succumbs to a terminal disease in Attenberg. There are several interesting moments that feel uncomfortably candid and suggest autobiography, but Athina Rachel Tsangari directs with such cold dispassion that it’s impossible to get deeply involved. As a result, the movie lacks the emotional resonance that the material demands.
