Attention to skin, hair and nails pays off for Deanna

Deanna Casaluce of Degrassi: The Next Generation.

Deanna Casaluce, actor, plays Alex on Degrassi: The Next Generation, airing Tuesdays on CTV:

Q: What products that you use make you look and feel good?

A: I try to keep my skin, hair and nails looking their best. I find that when these three things are in order, I look my best and thus feel good. For my skin, I use the Yonka line. I find it works wonders.

A trick I use for my hair is working olive oil through the ends. When I wake up and wash it, I find my hair is stronger and looks healthy. I used to wear artificial nails, but because of the damage they can cause to your natural nails, I don’t wear them any more. I moisturize them with SolarOil, a blend of oils that softens the cuticles and strengthens nails.

Q: Describe your style?

A: I find the trendiest of fashions tend to be the worst of fashion when you look back. I stick to designs that have always looked nice throughout the ages and incorporate those classics into my wardrobe. I love to glam things up where I can.

Q: What things make life easier?

A: Frank Sinatra makes my life easier. I adore the man. All I have to do is hear one note and I’m swept away to another place.

Q: What are your healthy eating habits?

A: Just recently, I decided to cut out as much white sugar, white bread, white rice and pasta as I can. I thought it would be impossible, coming from a Canadian Italian family where pasta and bread are two food groups. It was hell the first few days.

But when you get to know what other things you can eat that don’t have as much sugar or starch it gets much easier and forces you to eat more vegetables and whole wheat products, and in turn makes you feel much better!

Chris from Keys To The VIP

Chris, pickup guru and panelist on the Comedy Network’s Keys To The VIP, airing Tuesday nights:

Q: What products that you use that make you look and feel good?

A: My favourite soaps and lotions come from the store Lush. They’re made with natural ingredients and leave you feeling fresh, clean and ready to take on the world.

Q: Describe your style?

A: I’ll rock cargos with crisp white sneaks one day and then jeans, a vintage rock tee and Chucks the next. I base what I’m wearing on the weather, my mood and whatever’s not dirty.

Q: How do you stay fit?

A: I stay fit by playing sports like soccer, hockey, tennis and football. I think that it is essential to make going to the gym an integral part of anyone’s lifestyle. I start every morning by going to the gym.

Q: What are your healthy eating habits?

A: I’m a popcorn addict. I’ve gone to the movie theatre on more than one occasion with no clue which movie I was going to watch, because it was the popcorn I was there for. It’s OK to indulge, but balance is the key.
