Kerri Smit of the Saint Mary’s Huskies heads the list of Atlantic University Sport women’s volleyball all-stars.


The second-year standout from Shubenacadie, last year’s AUS rookie of the year, led the conference in scoring (5.48 points per game) and kills (4.71 per game).


Smit’s teammate, Janesse Boudreau, earned a second-team nod along with Halifax’s Katherine Ryan of the St. Francis Xavier X-Women. Ryan also earned a spot on the all-rookie team along with Lauren Smith of the Dalhousie Tigers. The third-seeded Huskies open the AUS championships tomorrow against the host Acadia Axewomen in Wolfville.


On the men’s side, Dan Murray, Sander Ratsep and Max Burt of the Dalhousie Tigers earned AUS first-team all-star honours. Dal hosts Game 1 of the best-of-three AUS final against the New Brunswick Varsity Reds tomorrow at 7 p.m.
