The women of Calgary opened their wallets Saturday night to help out a good cause, and to score dates with a few famous bachelors.

The Ultimate Bachelor Auction, held at the Calgary Women’s Show, saw 12 local bachelors and four celebrity bachelors from the show The Bachelor Pad, sold off to the highest bidders to raise more than $12,000 for the Calgary Military Family Resource Centre.

“It was amazing, it was our biggest feature,” said Gillian Swann, spokeswoman for the Calgary Women’s Show.

Jesse Kovacs from the Bachelor Pad went for $1,300, but said his date was more interested in the charity than in him. “It was not all about us,” said Kovacs. All the winning bidders were treated to a dinner at Firewater.
