Bad bikers irk other bikers too: Instructor

Non-motorcycle riders who shake their fists at noisy bikes and dangerous drivers are not alone — other bikers get irked with this behaviour too, says a local motorcycle instructor.
Graham Street, who teaches at Roadcraft Motorcycle Academy in Richmond, said bad drivers tar everyone with the same brush.
“Riders who are travelling fast and on the shoulder and weaving in and out of traffic, they are the vast minority,” said Street, who will be spreading his message of motorcycle safety at the annual Gastown Show n’ Shine on Sunday.
“But because they are doing something that stands out, we remember them.”
Street said noise is another big controversy. “There are a lot of riders that feel if they are heard it’s an added safety feature. (But) ... it just echoes from everywhere.
“Just because you’ve been doing something a long time doesn’t mean you’re skilled at it.”
