Balcony-climbing deviant sought by city police

Police are looking for a man who climbed onto two north Calgary balconies and was touching himself while observing women inside.

The man climbed onto one balcony at 1st Street and 28 Avenue NW Thursday morning at around 2 a.m. and when the woman saw him he ran away and repeated the act 45 minutes later in a window at 2nd Street and 31 Avenue NE, according to police.

He is described as a 17- to 20-year-old Caucasian male, around six-foot-one, with a slim build and chin-length brown hair and was wearing dark clothing at the time. Police say he’s not really a danger since he runs when discovered, but they are still looking for the public’s help to catch him.

“What he’s engaging in is disturbing in nature. I don’t think any of the females in our community need to be subjected to that,” said Det. Carlos de Menezes.

Anyone with information regarding the incidents should call police at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
