The Baltimore Ravens terminated the contract of running back Ray Rice Monday afternoon after new video of Rice and a domestic incident from Feb. 15 at Revel Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey was released by TMZ.
The video shows Rice striking his then-fiancee (now wife) Janay Palmer in the face, leaving her unconscious in an elevator. Previous video showed Rice dragging Palmer out of the elevator.
Shortly after the Ravens released Rice, the NFL suspended him indefinitely.
The NFL suspended Rice two regular season games for the incident on July 25 but received a great deal of criticism by fans and media outlets alike for a perceived weak punishment.
Rice is a three-time Pro Bowler and had been with the Ravens since 2008 when he was drafted out of Rutgers in the second round. He helped lead the Ravens to a Super Bowl title in the 2012 season.
