Baltzer to stay at hospital

Mark Baltzer will be spending more time at the Waterford Hospital in St. John’s where he has been remanded once again.

Baltzer appeared Thursday in Stephenville provincial court where he is now facing 27 charges for a bail hearing.

It was determined Baltzer’s Sept. 21 trial in Port aux Basques has been advanced to Sept. 3 in Stephenville.

The 53-year-old from King’s County is charged with making a number of threats to cause death or bodily harm to police officers, a holding cell guard, as well as other weapons-related and alcohol-related charges.

Driving charges
Mark Baltzer also has outstanding charges related to driving while prohibited against him from Corner Brook, as well as two prior convictions of impaired driving in Nova Scotia.
