Barrie defeats Brampton 6-2

BRAMPTON, Ont. – Tanner Pearson scored two goals as the Barrie Colts defeated the host Brampton Battalion 6-2 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Ivan Telegin had a goal and an assist for the Colts (25-19-3), who won for the first time in three outings, while Ryan O’Connor, Norm Ezekiel and Colin Behenna scored a goal apiece.

Jamie Lewis and Ian Watters each scored for the Battalion (26-12-9), who failed to pick up a point for the first time in six games.

Mathias Niederberger made 40 saves for the win, and first star of the game, while Matej Machovsky allowed five goals on 19 shots before leaving the game in the third period.

Keegan Wilson faced just three shots in relief, stopping two of them.

Barrie went 1 for 4 on the power play as Brampton went 1 for 8.
