NEW YORK. Foursquare — a location-based mobile networking application — has teamed up with MTV to promote STD awareness.


The app — which allows users to “check in” to commercial spaces,
rewarding them for repeat visits — is now offering “badges” to those
who get themselves checked for sexually transmitted diseases.


As part of MTV’s “GYT: Get Yourself Tested” campaign, Foursquare will
check users’ locations via their smartphone GPS to confirm — and
promote — the healthy practice.
