Shoshana Bean, actress, portrays Elphaba in Wicked, at the Canon Theatre until Dec. 31:
Q: What products that you use make you look and feel good?
A: Well, I am a moisturizing queen! So I love all kinds of lotions, oils, salves and creams for my skin, hair and lips.
On my hair I’m using Dr. Hauschka’s Neem Oil, which I adore. For my lips, the new product which a castmate turned me onto is the Body Shop’s Mango Lip Butter.
I use Vaseline on my face, not crazy amounts. The show make-up and scrubbing it off makes my skin dry and sensitive, so Vaseline makes me happy. The fragrance that rocks my world is from La Prairie. It’s called Midnight Rain. I have to have it on!
Q: Describe your style?
A: I don’t follow the trends of the moment necessarily because I hate looking like every other girl that walks down the street.
I’m a big sunglasses girl. I also love handbags. I have a few faves I alternate between.
And I own one too many matching sweatsuits, some Nikes and a few Adidas. I like to be comfortable. I work out a lot and I like to be somewhat cute while I’m doing so, and they are perfect for that.
Q: What things make life easier?
A:My family and friends make life easier! Always first and foremost, music is my salvation. All kinds.
Alan Park, cast member, Royal Canadian Air Farce, airing on CBC:
Q: What products do you use that make you look and feel good?
A: I use Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint Soap. It’s environmentally sound and an excellent wake-me-up in the shower.
Q: Describe your style?
A: My fashion trend is that if someone compliments me on what I’m wearing I try to remember to tell the person who picked it out for me.
That’s usually my wife, or someone at the store on the Danforth where I buy my clothes.
Q: How do you keep life in perspective?
A: I remember that I’m lucky enough to earn a living doing something I enjoy.
Q: How do you stay fit?
A: I practise combat conditioning and hill sprints.
Q: What are your healthy eating habits?
A: I’m vegan and aim for organic as often as possible. Everyone who loves steak just turned the page in disgust.
