Living on two continents often spells trouble for a band, but not for Hamilton’s Junior Boys who have created one of the most ambitious records in their young career. Flying back and forth between Hamilton and Berlin, the duo were able to craft a complex collection of minimalist, yet upbeat electro grooves and ’80s melodies, based on Norman McLaren’s films. The record drags a bit in the middle, but songs such as the dance floor friendly Hazel, prove the guys are moving in the right direction.
