Bernanke: Yes, I got it wrong

WASHINGTON. Federal reserve chairman Ben Bernanke told the Financial Crisis Committee Thursday that he had failed to recognize flaws in the financial system, which, as a result, undermined the U.S. housing market and almost caused the collapse of the global economy.

He said the Federal Reserve now favored tighter regulation of financial institutions and big banks.
