Police in HRM are warning the public about a new scam making the rounds.
The Halifax Regional Police/RCMP Integrated Financial Crime Unit says it has received several complaints from people who received calls from someone trying to sell them something.
The device — which police say doesn’t actually exist — will supposedly reduce a person’s energy use and result in a lower bill. The caller then asks for credit card information to complete the transaction.
Police say none of the roughly six complainants were taken in by the scam.
