A Halifax couple has become the province’s newest millionaires after winning the top prize in a recent Atlantic 49 lottery.
Donald and Georgia Clark took home a $1-million prize after the May 27 draw.
“This couldn’t have come at a better time,” Georgia said in a press release.
The couple was recently considering selling the condominium that has been their home for the past 25 years in order to downsize to something more affordable, the release said. Thanks to their big win, they can now keep their home.
“After all these years we now have the freedom to live our lives worry-free,” Georgia said.
According to the release, while the Clarks are taking some time to decide how to spend their winnings, there is one purchase that’s already at the top of their list — a new Honda to replace the car they’ve been driving for 13 years
