The Black Eyed Peas will headline an event being dubbed Halifax Rocks 2010 on the Halifax Common on Saturday, July 24.
Harold MacKay of Power Promotional Concepts made the announcement at a press conference on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the World Trade and Convention Centre.
Weezer and Classified will also perform on July 24 as part of the two-day rock and hip-hop show. Bands performing on Friday, July 23, will be announced later this month.
General-admission tickets for the Black Eyed Peas are $99 plus service charges and go on sale on Friday, April 16, at 9 a.m.
Past performers on the Common are Paul McCartney, KISS and The Rolling Stones.
A two-day country festival featuring Alan Jackson is also scheduled for the Common in August.
