Blackstone was golden over the weekend at the 2010 Rosies, Alberta’s version of the Academy Awards.

The 36th annual Alberta Film and Television Awards, celebrating excellence and outstanding achievement in Albertan film, television and new media, were handed out on Saturday night at a gala celebration held at the Edmonton EXPO Centre.

The statuette, known as the Rosie, was awarded in 22 Class and 30 Craft categories and this year the big winner was Prairie Dog Film and Television’s pilot episode of Blackstone.

Blackstone received five Rosies, including Best Dramatic Production under 60 minutes.

But the Edmonton-based production company that led the Rosie way because of Blackstone wasn’t alone at the top. Calgary-based Crowsnest Films took home five of their own between two productions, Dan Mangan and Athletes in Motion.
