A Nova Scotia RCMP officer who died in January’s devastating earthquake in Haiti is having a blood donor clinic take place in his honour Friday. The RCMP and Canadian Blood Services is asking everyone to take part in a blood clinic to honour Sgt. Mark Gallagher, left, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Halifax Military Community Centre. Gallagher, well known in both police and media circles, left Halifax in July for a peace operation in Haiti where he trained Haitian police as part of a UN mission.
