Two Calgary drivers have been charged in relation to a minivan and school bus collision that sent three-dozen kids to hospital last week.

According to police, the school bus, carrying 36 students, and the van with one occupant, were both travelling eastbound near the intersection of 9 St and 78 Ave NW.

The school bus collided with the minivan as the van attempted to make a left hand turn on 9 St, police said.

Minivan driver, Katherine Gamble, 33, of Calgary, has been charged with being a learner driver of a vehicle without proper supervision.

School bus driver, Krista Donovan, 38, of Calgary has been charged with driving carelessly, driving left of the centre line and operating a commercial vehicle that was not inspected under daily trip inspection requirements.

The police are providing more information later Thursday.
