An 18-year-old Brampton resident has been charged with first-degree murder after a targeted home invasion left George Kalogerakis dead on Nov. 12.

Kalogerakis, 38, who lived on Earth Star Trail with his 62-year-old mother was targeted by the suspects because he was believed to be holding a large amount of drugs in his home, police said.

Homicide detectives said he suffered extensive trauma, but did not confirm the cause.

Kalogerakis succumbed to his injuries in hospital on the same day.

Brampton resident Isaac Kwakye, 18, was arrested on Saturday and was slated to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton yesterday, said Peel Regional police.

Police are still searching for two more suspects believed to be armed and extremely dangerous.
This was Peel’s 18th homicide of the year.
