The last time this many people were hanging out on the south Legislature grounds it was April 20 and there was a conspicuous smoke cloud hovering over the crowd.
The only thing missing that day was the pancake breakfast, which I’m sure would have been appreciated.
Yesterday was the fourth annual Premier’s Capital EX Pancake Breakfast and Premier Ed Stelmach was there to greet the large crowd.
“As always, this breakfast promises to be a great way to kick off the day,” Stelmach said.
“Summers in Alberta go by quickly so it’s important to slow down a bit and enjoy it and these grounds are the place to do it.”
The premier encouraged people to use the legislature grounds, not only in the summer, but also year-round.
“There is so much to do here,” he said.
Yesterday, the focus was on pancakes, sausages and eggs however, and there was plenty to go around.
