Some girls dream of forging world peace or finding a cure for cancer. Not school teacher Emma (Anne Hathaway) and corporate lawyer Liv (Kate Hudson), who hardly care what man they land as long the nuptials occur in June in New York’s luxurious The Plaza Hotel.
A mistake by Manhattan’s top wedding planner, Marion St. Claire (Candice Bergen), results in both weddings — gasp! — being booked into the Plaza on the same day. Emma and Liv morph into stop-at-nothing rivals, each vowing to sabotage the other’s special plans.
Bride Wars is overlong and episodic, which is what you’d expect from a committee of writers, but it’s passably amusing.
