Now I know where everyone is at lunchtime on a Sunday. Saege is hopping as I greet a table of friends, and the sun is beating through the solarium windows.

Lunch features include salads, pizza, pasta, soups and sandwiches. But, for today, brunch is in order. I’m tempted by the Saege Bennies — Eggs Benedict in several styles including smoked salmon. How rich and delicious!

On the side are hash browns and a garnish of fruit for a colourful touch.

Two companions order Saege Bennies also — Florentine and Meadowbrook Smoked Ham — while another has an oozing-with-flavour omelette with mushrooms, spinach, carmelized onions and feta.

Our Caesar-sipping friend has the unique Spicy Steak Hash — a generous and tasty serving of spiced ribeye, carmelized onions, sweet peppers, hash browns and poached eggs on toasted cornbread. It’s filling even without the cornbread.
