Buskers to hit town

Talented entertainers from all over the world are all set to hit the Halifax waterfront when we kick off the 22nd annual Halifax International Busker Fest Aug. 7.

The Calypso Tumblers, who will be traveling from the U.S. for the Busker Fest, will be sure to attract a crowd after introducing their unique Acro-tumbling on America’s got talent. Victor Rubilar, who holds a four-time record for soccer ball juggling, is making the trek all the way from Sweden to perform.

While the Busker Fest will give us the opportunity to experience talent from all over the world, it will also remind us of all of the talented performers that were born and raised right here. Nova Scotia magician Patrick Drake will join local dance, skipping and variety groups, as the waterfront becomes their hometown stage.

With five stages, 71 performers and over 500 performances, the 2008 Busker Fest promises to draw Maritimers with all tastes from all over to the Halifax waterfront to enjoy the entertainment.

If you’re craving entertainment sooner, don’t forget that Z103.5 just launched our fifth mix CD presented by DJ NoLuv —Z103.5’s Hit Mix 2008. The official CD launch party happened last night at Big Leagues in Dartmouth.

Last but not least, don’t forget that voting is underway for the Toyota Yaris DJ Stylus Awards. Vote online at www.z103halifax.com, and don’t miss the winner being announced at the nomination party on May 23 at Embassy Nightclub.
