Two Toronto men have been arrested and 72 charges have been laid after a police search uncovered three firearms and a large amount of narcotics.
The guns and gangs task force executed a search warrant in a condominium complex in the Lake Shore W. and Legion Road area after police were informed of suspicious activity at two homes in the complex.
“The benefit is that two firearms have been taken off the streets as well as a Tech 9 machine pistol and the two people accused of committing these crimes have been taken into custody,” said Const. Tony Vella.
Vella confirmed both men are known to police.
William Ortiz, 27, of Toronto is facing 42 firearm and drug charges including four counts of possession of prohibited firearm with ammunition and traffic in cocaine.
Michael Lucho, 29, of Toronto is facing 30 charges including three counts of possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition.
