Calgary will reflect, adapt and revolve, said the city’s economic development team, as they delivered the 2010 report to the community Tuesday during a luncheon at the Hyatt.
The theme reflects Calgary’s resiliency during the economic downturn in 2009, Calgary Economic Development president and CEO Bruce Graham said.
“The theme for the 2010 report…speaks to the journey that we have experienced from the past year,” he said.
The event highlighted key accomplishments from 2009 and outlined the 10-year plan.
Mayor Bronconnier addressed the business crowd during the luncheon but also took the time to remind Calgarians that future economic prosperity will depend on their choice of mayor in the upcoming election.
“There are going to be many different people offering their vision and their plans for the future,” he said.
“Is the candidate believable…a vision and plan must always be driven by principles.”
The mayor urged the business community to take an active interest and involvement in the october election.
