Calgary Co-op outlet closes temporarily after metal objects found in food

A Calgary grocery store has been temporarily closed after employees found items had been tampered with and may contain small metal objects.

CALGARY - A Calgary grocery store has been temporarily closed after employees found items had been tampered with and may contain small metal objects.

Police and health authorities are investigating at the Calgary Co-op food store at Oakridge Centre.

Co-op employees are conducting a complete inspection of the store and its products.

The Calgary Co-op is also conducting a voluntary recall of its bulk bakery products, bulk food items and packaged cheeses over fears that they may contain metal objects.

Customers who purchased these items purchased since Jan. 15 are being asked to return them to the store for a full refund.

The company says there have been no reports of any injuries.
