Calgary defeats Tri-City 4-1

CALGARY – Brady Brassart and Danny Gayle scored goals 29 seconds apart in the second period as the Calgary Hitmen downed the visiting Tri-City Americans 4-1 on Sunday for their sixth straight Western Hockey League win.

Alex Gogolev added a goal and an assist for the Hitmen (31-17-3), who have won 14 of their past 15 games, while Chase Clayton also scored and Collin Bowman chipped in with two assists.

Brian Williams scored the lone goal for the Americans (35-12-2), who have dropped three of their last four contests.

Chris Driedger made 16 saves in the Calgary net to record his sixth straight win and 15th of the season.

Tri-City goalie Ty Rimmer stopped 31 of 35 shots he faced in defeat.

The Hitmen went 1 for 7 on the power play while the Americans failed to score on five opportunities with the man advantage.
