The Skinny: The Flames jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period and held on to defeat their Western Conference rivals in front of an appreciative sold-out crowd. The victory helped avenge the sting of a 6-1 loss in San Jose on Oct. 13.

Shooting Gallery:
The Flames (24-12-4) fired the first 15 shots on net and built up a 2-0 lead before Mike Grier finally recorded the first shot of the game for the Sharks (29-5-5) at 16:51 of the opening frame.

Hot Flames: Daymond Langkow scored twice to give him five goals and four assists on his current six-game point-scoring streak. Curtis Glencross and David Moss each had a goal and an assist, while Rene Bourque set up a pair of goals.

The Next Game: Calgary plays the New York Islanders tomorrow (7 p.m., Sportsnet, Fan 960).
