Calgary police arrested a Toronto man allegedly involved in an attempted murder case dating back to September.
It is alleged that on Sept. 13, a security guard at Toronto's Fairview Mall witnessed a man committing theft and attempted to stop him. The suspect then allegedly pointed a firearm at the guard, fired once and missed before fleeing the scene. A handgun was later recovered by police.
The accused was later arrested by Calgary police on a Canada-wide warrant on Feb. 4, and police say a second gun was confiscated during the arrest. It is also alleged the suspect assaulted two Toronto police officers during the flight back to Ontario to face charges.
Christopher Alexander, 27, faces 25 charges including attempted murder while using a firearm, two counts of assault in an aircraft in flight and two counts of assaulting a peace officer.
