Calgary police investigate serious assault

Calgary Police are searching for a suspect in a vicious assault that has left a man clinging to life in the intensive care unit at a Calgary hospital.

A passerby found a man lying face down behind a church in the 5200 block of 8 Ave SE on March 11 around 9:40 p.m., and EMS and police were called to the scene. The victim was found unconscious and, according to police, the victim had suffered significant head injuries.

Police say the victim’s residence was nearby.
The victim, John CRAFTS, is described as Caucasian, 54-years-of-age, 5’7” tall, weighing approximately 145 lbs., with a scruffy beard.

He has brown hair and a beard, blue eyes, and wears glasses.

He was found wearing blue jeans, a black baseball cap, black running shoes, and black hoodie.
Police are trying to piece together a timeline of the victim’s whereabouts prior to him being found.
