Dominion Day

Fort Edmonton Park (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) A park-wide celebration of Dominion Day with live music, dancing, and costumed interpreters. Check out the launch of the newly restored Streetcar #33. Free birthday cake. Free shuttle from South Campus LRT. Get your tickets in advance at www.fortedmontonpark.ca.


ATB Financial presents Canada Day

Edmonton Valley Zoo (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.) Celebrate Canada Day and the Edmonton Valley Zoo’s 51st birthday. Visit the Canadian animals, eat a slice of birthday cake, and enjoy a wonderful mix of family entertainment including performances by The Smudge Fundaes.


Canada Day at City Hall & Plaza

11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Canada Day Ceremony at 12 p.m. in the City Room. Live entertainment, crafts, face painting, petting zoo, City Hall tours and displays.


Churchill Square

11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. The Works Art & Design Festival.


Muttart Conservatory

1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy lively music, crafts, planting activities, face painting and lots of family fun. Search the pyramids to find plants native to Canada and then learn more from a guest naturalist. Canada Day also marks the beginning of our annual sculpture show.


3rd Annual Canada Day at Borden Park

1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Free admission to Borden Park Outdoor Pool, free BBQ, live entertainment, and family activities.


Alberta Legislature Canada Day

7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free pancake breakfast, Canada Day walk and runs, family entertainment.
11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Autograph session with Olympian Shannon Szabados.


Silly Summer Parade

Noon to 3:30 p.m. Starts at Queen Alexandra School, 7730-106 St., heads west on Whyte Ave. to 108 St. and back to Queen Alexandra School for family activities.
