Canadian Border Services officers had a Happy Halloween when they seized three cocaine-filled pumpkins at Montréal-Trudeau Airport.
The officers were searching the luggage of a female traveler when they found the pumpkins. They discovered almost 2 kg of suspected cocaine in bags stuffed inside the pumpkins, Canadian Border Services announced on its website.
The drug was transported to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police office for testing. Canadian Border Services declined to give the nationality of the woman or whether she was coming to or leaving from Canada.
Border services officers at Montréal-Trudeau Airport have made 173 drug seizures since the beginning of the year, including 10 cocaine seizures for a total of 44 kg, the agency said on its site.
