Canadian Idol winner Theo Tams ready to release debut

TORONTO – “Canadian Idol” may not be on the air this summer, but fans can get their fix with an upcoming record from the show’s last winner, Theo Tams.

Tams is releasing his debut record, “Give It All Away,” on May 19.

The Coaldale, Alta., native co-wrote seven tracks on the record, more than any other “Canadian Idol” winner has written on a debut album.

The record features writing from Hawksley Workman, Sarah Slean, Dahmnait Doyle and Simon Wilcox.

The first single “Lazy Lovers,” a piano-driven tune co-written with Workman and Johnston, has already been serviced to radio.

The 23-year-old won the sixth season of “Idol,” which has since been put on hiatus by CTV.
