Canadian UFC fighter stalled by visa issues

TORONTO – Canadian bantamweight Mitch Gagnon’s UFC debut has been put on hold due to red tape.

The UFC said Gagnon’s fight against American Johnny Bedford, scheduled for Saturday on a televised card in Chicago has been pulled “due to visa issues.”

The 27-year-old from Sudbury, Ont., has won six straight fights to up his mixed martial arts record to 8-1.

Bedford (18-10-1) was one of the 135-pounders featured on Season 14 of “The Ultimate Fighter.”
