MONTREAL — Montreal Canadiens’ owner George Gillett says in a newspaper interview that he is seeking an investment for his trifecta of sports ventures.
In an interview published in Montreal La Presse on Saturday, Gillett says he’s looking for a minority partner for his hockey, soccer and NASCAR teams, while he maintains a controlling interest.

He had previously floated the idea of selling one of the ventures outright, and there had been reports the Canadiens and the NHL team’s home arena, the Bell Centre, were for sale.
Gillett told La Presse he wants the partner to invest $400 million in the three sports holdings.
He says he proposed the offer to a number of potential buyers.
Gillett bought the Canadiens nine years ago for US$185 million.
