Canal closed due to warm weather

With rain and warmer temperatures forecast for the next couple of days, the National Capital Commission is closing the Rideau Canal Skateway until further notice.

The temporary closure is a safety measure that will help minimize damage to the soft ice surface.

Crews will resume maintenance to reopen the skateway as quickly as possible.
