Cancer survivor thankful for life

Re: "Young mom’s battle with cancer," Lisi Tesher column, Feb. 14:

Lisi, I cannot agree with you more. Michelle’s story was heart-wrenching. I, too, had tears streaming down my face.

I am a 37-year-old woman who had almost the same story as Michelle.

The good news is that I have beat the cancer. I have had the double mastectomy and the hysterectomy. I have had the treatment.

My children will remember me. I live everyday thanking God that I am alive and well.

Michelle’s story was so tragic. To me, it symbolizes what could have been. Some of us are lucky and some of us are not.

Experiencing cancer has made me realize that nothing is important in life other than what you have stated in your article. I am so glad that you wrote this article.
