Campaign promises came out yesterday, as one candidate wants to put city taxes on ice.

Wayne Stewart yesterday said he would freeze Calgary property taxes, starting with the 2012 budget year, if elected.

“Calgarians have lost trust in their elected officials to govern and spend their hard-earned money,” Stewart said in a release.

“The audit fiasco this spring showed the folly of awarding untendered contracts, having massive cost overruns, and then turning around and handing the bill to taxpayers.”
