Canuck investigated for alleged dust-up during game

Vancouver Canucks forward Alex Burrows is being investigated by police after an on-ice incident in a Montreal summer hockey league game.

According to a complaint filed on July 21, Burrows allegedly hit a 19-year-old goaltender in the face with his stick during a game at the Excellent Ice Arena in Kirkland, Que.

With Burrows, 27, facing possible charges, Canucks management say they’re waiting to gather all facts before commenting, according to RDS.ca.

The family of goaltender Koray Celik isn’t speaking either, on the advice of their lawyers.

Also known as the Pond Hockey League, the summer league helps professional, minor pro and college players stay sharp in the offseason.
