Canucks flag flying high at city hall ahead of Round 2

You may see Mayor Gregor Robertson cycling around Vancouver in a head-to-toe green unitard if the Canucks go all the way.

The Green Men — who sit next to the opposing team’s penalty box and goad players during games — challenged Robertson yesterday to dress like them if the Canucks win the Stanley Cup.

“Maybe,” Robertson said laughing, while being interviewed by the Green Men outside city hall after a flag-raising ceremony commemorating April 27 as Canucks Day.

“It’s never too early to have the Canucks’ flag flying (at city hall),” Robertson said.

Last year, Robertson bet on the Canucks-Blackhawks series with Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, and when the Canucks lost he had to send smoked salmon, chocolates and 2010 Olympic gear to Illinois.

The Canucks will face Chicago again for the second round, which starts on Saturday, and Robertson said he’s going double or nothing against Daley.
